Franchere Eola-Amity Hills Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley 2022

Mike Hinds sources this Pinot Noir from Zenith Vineyard in the Eola-Amity Hills AVA. Zenith is a LIVE-certified, sustainably farmed vineyard that is dry-farmed without herbicides and planted in marine sedimentary soils. The majority of the fruit for this bottling is Pommard clone, planted in 2006. The wine was fermented with 20% whole clusters in open topped bins, and at cool temperatures to ensure gentle extraction. Aged for 14-months in neutral French oak, racked once, and bottled unfined and unfiltered.  Pairing: Braised Chicken and Mushrooms, Semi-soft cheeses like Gruyère & Comté, Cream of Mushroom Soup Grape: Pinot Noir  Soil: Basalt & iron-rich marine sediment Viticulture: Organic
