Oenothera biennis / Evening Primrose
$5.00
Evening Primrose is named for the habit of its summer flowers to open later in the day, and the clusters of vibrant yellow are ones to keep an eye out for! This native biennial puts out a leafy basal rosette in its first year and flowers the second year, when it is then able to produce seeds which are full of oils that are popularly used in fatty acid supplements today. Cut flowerheads before they go to seed to keep it from spreading. For more information, please visit: https://www.missouribotanicalgarden.org/PlantFinder/PlantFinderDetails.aspx?taxonid=283027
