Handmade quilt by women in San Pedro Sula, Honduras Description Marilu is one of our youngest Makers and only sews when she isn't doing school work. Marilu is the daughter of Mariana and granddaughter of Maria Luisa. She is the oldest child that lives at home out of Mariana's 9 children. Before Marilu's mother started sewing for One Common Thread, she was sleeping on a dirt floor because her siblings and mother shared the only two beds that they owned. Now she has her own bed, a cement floor under her feet and finally a roof over her head to keep her dry from the consistent rain that hits Honduras. This baby quilt is beautiful and is made with a cozy soft flannel of 2" hexagons and has a soft light pink backing.
