Cowgirl Up 2, A Finished Quilt

Handmade quilt by women in San Pedro Sula, Honduras Description The Maker of this quilt, Cowgirl Up was Elba. This quilt is so cool because of the beautiful combination of colors and design.  Elba is a newer maker and such a sweet young person.  Here is a little Elba wrote about herself!   "My name is Elba. I was born on August 14, 2000, and I am in free union with my partner. I am the mother of two and a stepmother to one. I have three children: Kimberly, 3 years old; Ruth Nohemy, 8 years old and in second grade; and my stepson, José Belarmino, 16 years old and in 10th grade. My husband works as a gardener, and I have a job because I dedicate myself to taking care of my children at home. I don't have much experience sewing, but I am willing to learn as I go along. I want to sew because I love it, and it allows me to work from home while caring for my children. My last academic year was the fifth grade. We are a family of five living together in one room that is about 20' x 20' big.
