Handmade quilt by women in San Pedro Sula, Honduras Description This beautiful diamond patterned quilt is called River Runs Through It and was made by our Maker Maria.  This quilt is full of camping, fishing and cabin type materials and would be perfect in someones home away from home!  The Maker of this quilt, Maria, has a story that is a testament to the positive influence of other women in the bordo.  She learned to sew from her neighbor Marta and has enjoyed having a way to make a living on her own.  By providing Maria with the opportunity to work with One Common Thread, she is not only empowered, she can contribute to her household income , and it has enabled her to balance her responsibilities as a mother. The flexibility to work from home allows Maria to be present for her children while still being able to provide for their needs. The ability to sew and generate income not only benefits Maria personally but also creates a sense of empowerment and self-sufficiency. It's remarkab
