Two good friends are having a normal conversation about the day's activities when one person reluctantly decides to confide in the other about a personal struggle. The devil successfully influences the person not to tell. The other friend also wants to share a struggle, but the devil snuffs out his desire to tell as well. The scene ends with both friends speaking to themselves about their perception that "no one understands."
