This user friendly remote control unit is operated manually from the transmitter (handheld remote). The system operates on radio frequencies within a 20’ range using non-directions signals. In order to operate this remote, you must have a junction box that is in working condition under your fireplace. If you have a junction box under your unit, we recommend making sure you have active power before making your purchase. When plugged into a standard 110-120 VAC receptacle, the remote receiver operates on commands from the transmitter or from the slide switch on the face of the receiver (This switch is to be used during a power outage to operate the appliance manually).
