Description: The 300 year-old plant (pronounced roy-boss) is native to South Africa and is popularly brewed into a caffeine-free reddish-brown herbal infusion that gets it name after the Afrikaans word rooibostee which translates to “red bush tea.” Rooibos’ inherent honey flavor gives it a natural, soothing sweetness easily enjoyable without adding sugar. However, a dash of honey is known to multiply the tea’s inherent honeiness making it the be-all, end-all honey-lovers choice. It’s natural sweetness also makes for a refreshing iced tea.
