The lens comes with damping grease to help hold it in place. However, you will need to glue the lens if you need to handle vibration. We are working on an M8 lock ring to solve this problem. This lens gives your OpenMV Cam the ability to see longer distances (e.g. zoom in). The standard lens that ships with your OpenMV AE3 has about a 70° field-of-view (FOV) which allows your OpenMV AE3 to see more things, but, with less detail. This lens has about a 55° FOV so it provides your OpenMV Cam with about a 1.4x zoom on any particular object.
