Lanceleaf Coreopsis (Coreopsis lanceolata) is a cheery, yellow perennial native wildflower that is easy to grow from seed.  Showy blooms are produced in early summer once established. Grows well in both prairie and garden bed settings, but it can form dense colonies. Even though it is a fairly short lived perennial, it re-seeds freely and you are likely to see it again. It's considered deer resistant and is typically on the shorter side of native wildflowers.
