Nearly 90% of people living in Jagong Jeget earn income through agricultural work, particularly Arabica coffee production, which thrives here due to the rich soil and elevation of 1400–1600 masl. This coffee has the rich body you'd expect from an Indonesian coffee, but it also has a surprising note of cooked plum and sweetness, like an almond marzipan.
