Description Compatibility Resources Optec's NGC214 Next Generation Corrector is a 2-inch diameter optical focal reducer and coma corrector for classic Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescopes including the Celestron C-14, C-11, and C-8. This reducer/corrector also works very well with the classic Meade LX200 f/10 SCT telescopes. Designed specifically for the classic Celestron and Meade SCT's, the NGC214 provides a magnification of 0.63X. With the classic SCT scopes, this focal reducer is fairly forgiving for placement behind the telescope. Typically, placing the reducer farther from the rear cell will require a de-focus of the main mirror which increases the native focal ratio. When used with a TCF 2-inch focuser on the back of the classic C-14 (native f-ratio is f/11), you can expect an effective focal ratio of f/7.3 Classic f/10 SCT scopes will typcally yield an effective focal ratio around f/6.8 with the TCF focuser in place.
