It's Megan's first poem since her days as a student of Elizabeth Bishop and Robert Lowell. In my musical setting I refer to the classic Caccini song "Amarilli Mia bella," both in the opening vocalline and in the ending piano accompaniment. The song is dedicated to Megan.
