Composer: David Evan Thomas Instrumentation: SATB Mixed chorus, piano (organ) Duration: 3 minutes Date Written:  2017 Premiere: Brunswick Methodist Church, Golden Valley Minnesota, 2017 Program Note: O Lord of Life is the fruit of a competition and commission from Lutheran Arts in honor of the historic 500th Anniversary of the Protestant Reformation. As recipients of the Baker Family Prize, David Evan Thomas and Rev. Don Holmstrom were tasked with the creation of a congregational hymn and an anthem based thereon. The result was Wherever Christ is Present. The process was adjudicated by Susan Palo Cherwien, Aaron David Miller and Paul Westermeyer. This anthem is an offshoot of Don and David's collaboration.
