Io
Handmade matte white and pale celadon large serving bowl on stoneware with celadon carved exterior. The design is created when the glazes melt into an irregular pattern in the gas kiln - making it truly one-of-a-kind. Exterior iron texture created with granular magnetite crystals. Magnetite is a rock mineral and one of the main iron ores, with the chemical formula Fe3O4. It is one of the oxides of iron and is ferrimagnetic (it is attracted to a magnet and can be magnetized to become a permanent magnet itself). It is the most magnetic of all the naturally occurring minerals on Earth and has many positive energetic properties as a crystal. Named after Io, Jupiter's most volcanically active moon in the Solar System, with hundreds of volcanoes, some erupting lava fountains dozens of miles (or kilometers) high. In mythology, Io is a mortal human transformed into a cow during a dispute between the Greek god Zeus and Hera. The perfect vessel for decor. Donuts for scale. Matte glazes shoul
