An Oscar Mike Hero is an injured Veteran who is conquering their disability and inspiring others. We choose to call these individuals "Heroes" because they won't ever call themselves one. Each Hero helps design their shirt and their personal story is printed on the inside. ABOUT THIS HERO Matthew Pietro is a U.S. Marine Veteran who served 4 years active duty including 2 deployments.  In 2013 he suffered an injury which resulted in 23 shattered bones, 43 surgeries, and the loss of his right leg above the knee.  Battling PTSD, the injury, and the memories of all he lost, life took a downward spiral to the bottom of a bottle.  In 2014, bent but not broken, Matt got "On The Move" and joined Anytime Fitness.  Armed with a fierce will to win, he trained and struggled to strengthen his mind and body.  Today Marine Sergeant Matthew Pietro is an Adaptive Athlete that inspires everyone he meets with heart, will, and passion.
