Heroes Series: Kenneth Lee Long Sleeve

An Oscar Mike Hero is an injured Veteran who is conquering their disability and inspiring others. We choose to call these individuals "Heroes" because they won't ever call themselves one. Each Hero helps design their shirt.  ABOUT THIS HERO Dr. Kenneth Lee, COL(RET) sustained multiple shrapnel wounds, a traumatic brain injury and nerve damage when his convoy was ambushed by a suicide bomber in Baghdad on September 12, 2004. He struggled with his injuries, depression and violent mood swings, becoming entirely disconnected from his family. When he realized it was time for a change he started counseling, running 10 miles a day and biking to and from work. Realizing the positive effects of exercise and adaptive sports he became an advocate for their integration into the recovery of others through his work as the Chief of the Spinal Cord Injury clinic at the Milwaukee Veterans Affairs Medical Center.  Dr. Lee leads the way in adaptive sports, introducing and heading programs that include wh
