Lantern Vase

With our without flowers, these sculptural vases command a quiet presence in the home.  This vase is slipcast using porcelain slip, then dipped in glaze and fired to Cone 6.  Designed by Lauren HB Studio. Lauren Herzak-Bauman’s practice is three-fold: pottery, sculpture, and public art. Within each of these practices, she focuses using concept and craft to create a transformative experience for her audience. A cup can do that. An immersive installation can do that too. Her pieces are sculptural, somewhat architectural, with such a respect for the natural shape and life of the glaze itself.  Her faceted pieces - vases, bowls, and plates - with their gorgeous matte glazes are reminiscent of found objects - water-weathered time-worn.
