This is an original linocut by Lori Biwer-Stewart of Osage, Iowa. "Sounds of Paper Wings" is an original linocut print created and hand pulled in my studio on heavy weight Stonehenge printmaking paper. Each is hand painted with lightfast inks, so each print may vary slightly. Lilacs are one of my favorite flowers. Maybe because they are around and in full bloom for such a short time each year. The fragrance is so sweet and strong. The origami birds above this girls head almost represent a dream. The colors in this print are strong and vibrant. This is a linocut is a reduction print. There are 6 passes through the press using 6 colors all layered to create this image. Printed with oil-based inks on a cream colored Stonehenge printmaking paper. Image size: 12" x 9" Edition size: 20 Frame size: 20.25" x 16.25" x 0.75" Unframed piece is mounted on a piece of archival foamboard and packaged in a plastic sleeve. Signed and titled in pencil below the print. Linocut is a type of relief print.
