Hysteria is Def Leppard's fourth studio album, released Aug. 3, 1987. Selling over 25 million copies worldwide, it's their most successful and peaked at #1 on both the Billboard 200 and the UK Albums Chart. It was produced by Robert John "Mutt" Lange and takes its title from drummer Rick Allen's 1984 auto accident. It's the last album to feature guitarist Steve Clark, while songs he co-wrote appear on the next album, Adrenalize. Hysteria is the follow-up to the band's 1983 Pyromania.
