Black Oak Arkansas - Early Times - Album Cover Art
Butch Stone and BOA were some of my favorite people. These guys were as real as you will ever find—good human beings and great musicians as well! We did seven albums together. This finished illustration is of special interest for two reasons, the most important of which is something that Struzan has rarely ever done, which is to have co-authored a finish, in this case with Bill Garland. The second is that the piece is handled like a Disney animation cel, with a base drawing. Struzan rendered the interior of a mountain cabin in ink line and acrylic wash. Bill Garland illustrated the clear, full color cel overlay with cartoon figures of the band members. This is one rare piece! 1974 Acrylic on Board With Acetate Black Line & Color Overlay 20”x 30” This Very Rare Poster Will Adorn Your Wall With All The Power And Majesty Of The Music It Represents and The Artists That Created It.
