But once I did some research, I found out that making jewelry and small trinkets with the thin and delicate wings of this majestic insect is a lost art. The result is a shiny, colorful, and iridescent layer that depicts a tropical beach scene with palm trees swaying in the wind. It's set on a silver base so that you can pin it on whatever you fancy. Condition: The front surface is in perfect condition. The sterling silver on the back has tarnished a little bit, which I'm sure could be fixed with some silver polish—though I personally prefer the natural color!
