'Man Of Sorrows' Print

A detailed print of my original painting titled 'Man Of Sorrows'. I have been thinking recently about the scripture in Isaiah 53:3 that describes Christ as a ‘man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief’. This scripture has always felt so powerful to me, but I was reminded of it this week. While I most often picture Him as peaceful and contented, it was important for me to remember that He was a man of sorrows. In fact, the One who felt the sorrows of the entire world, of every person that has ever been. This belief has been profoundly important to me as I’ve gone through my life. To know that He perfectly understands what I’ve gone through and what I experience every day. To know that He has felt my sorrows and that because of Him I can overcome them. To know that He became deeply acquainted with grief FOR us. That knowledge is what has allowed me to heal, to become who I am supposed to be, to love fully. I can’t fathom the depth of love that He must possess to do that for his brothers
