This activity was designed to be a simple, no-prep activity to target articulation in an engaging way. These pages are no-prep (print & go). It includes the following sounds: initial/final: p, b, m; final: n, t, d; initial/medial/final: k, g, f, v, l, s, z, ch, j, th, sh; pre-vocalic r; vocalic r (er, ar, or, air, ear, ire); rblends; lblends; sblends (separate mats for sp, st, sm, sn, sk, sl, sw, mixed). This set also includes the following language skills: categories, associations, positional vocabulary, compare/contrast, verbs, plurals, & multiple meaning words First practice a word, then zap the robots back to their planet! Materials Needed: Laser pointer and a laser zap page. (laser pointers not included with this download, must be purchased separately). You can use the cheap finger lasers too! (they don’t have a solid stream of light, but they are still fun!) Instructions for students: Help! Robots are coming to invade Earth and swipe all of our electronics! Zap each ship five times to send them home (point your laser beam at the circles on the ship). Each time you zap the ship, practice the target skill. Color Earth after you have sent them all home. To use: The student will practice the target skill on the space ships and use a laser pointer to “zap” the ship (point it on dots on the ships). Optional: The students will color the ships they have zapped to keep track (this keeps hands busy in between turns). The therapist will determine the number of trials per zap! If you don’t own laser pointers, the students can dot the circles with a tip of a marker to “zap” the ship.
