Sand Dollar Urn

This biodegradable urn will carry your loved one's ashes in the open ocean where it will float briefly before gracefully sinking. The urn will break down naturally over time, dispersing the ashes in the deep ocean. Float time will vary depending on the weight of the ashes, weather and water conditions. *This urn is designed for a full portion of adult ashes which will provide the necessary weight for sinking. For a smaller portion of ashes, weighted material such as sand must be added to the urn in order for it to sink in a timely manner.* Federal burial at sea guidelines require that cremated remains be scattered at least three nautical miles from land. In some traditions, the sand dollar is a symbol of peace. Legend has it that there are five doves inside the shells that are free to bring goodwill to the world when the sand dollar is broken.
