PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE PURCHASING  If you are looking for something more robust and/or do not use dust caps check out our 30mm Slip Over ARD.  The Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8x24 has a machined step out from the glass, not a threaded end cap. Therefore, there is nothing for the ARD to grab onto to retain itself on the end of the optic.
