The wines of Aldo Conterno - son of Giacomo Conterno - from the 60s to early 90s are some of the finest Barolos around. The style wasn’t oaky, nor was it rustic and tannic. The wines were chiseled and vividly aromatic despite serious depth and rich fruit. ‘88s were some of the last made by the iconic Aldo himself, offering a glimpse into another era.
