Adriana Marineo Entropy Editions Marineo’s Rest Systems is a quiet exploration of mutual aid & collective living placed against the backdrop of the seemingly endless commodification of every aspect of human existence, down to something as essential as the act of sleep. Utilizing a loose, delicate line, they take a non-didactic approach to these themes via a set of anthropomorphic insects going about their quotidian routines, all orbiting around the act of rest & the protagonist’s struggles with it. A refreshing new entry from an emerging voice in the Italian small-press comics scene. Adriana Marineo is a cartoonist based in Bologna Italy, where they’re a member of the Enter Press collective (who are publishing the Italian edition of Rest Systems) as well as the bookshop/gallery/risograph & screenprinting studio known as Titivil.
