Reggie grew up Detroit's east side, however, he often visited relatives on Detroit's west side. His memories on the other side of town reminds him of musical rhythms, pace and energy which he captured in this piece. 32"x26" Original Abstract Collage  - framed   Reggie Singleton Singleton's major influences are Albert Durer, Al Loving, Elizabeth Catlett, andNorman Lewis. Reggie’s primary mediums were Inks and Acrylics until CharlesMcGee encouraged him to pursue Wood Sculpture in 2010. This medium hasbeen his primary focus from 2010 until now. Through his framed wood reliefs, Singleton developed a technique that combined sculpting and framing called “Surongajii”, ‘SOO-RON-GAA-JEE’. In 2017, this technique earned Singleton a permanent installation in WSU’s Bio-Engineering Building.
