PMF Trunk-Mounted Chassis Wing System

At PMF, every product starts from a real-world need we encounter on customer builds. This system was born from one of the most common challenges in race car fabrication — achieving the rigidity of a chassis-mounted wing while keeping the convenience and accessibility of a trunk-mounted setup. With a traditional chassis-mount wing, accessing the trunk typically means removing the wing or lifting off the entire trunk lid — both of which are cumbersome for one person and risk damaging expensive parts. Even when left in place, a chassis wing makes it difficult to work around or reach inside the trunk. On the other hand, a trunk-mounted wing is convenient — it hinges with the lid and allows full access — but comes with serious downsides. The downforce loads pass through thin sheet metal or composite panels, often crushing or cracking trunk lids and stressing latch points.
