This large 19th-century French trunk is a beautifully substantial piece, built with intention and meant to endure. Crafted from solid wood, its broad plank construction and generous scale speak to its original purpose—serious storage, handled daily. The surface bears a deep, natural patina with scattered marks, tonal shifts, and softened edges that reflect decades of use rather than restoration. Raised on turned bun feet and finished with its original lock escutcheon, the trunk feels both architectural and warm. Ideal at the foot of a bed, beneath a window, or as a statement storage piece in a living space.
