30 x 30" | Oil on Linen F61 is a name assigned to this individual by a Panthera research project that ran in the Gros Ventre mountains east of the Tetons. This individual is an incredible matriarch, successfully raising kittens for most of her adulthood and surviving all the odds stacked against her, including hunting. She was last seen on camera traps the summer of '23 and believed to be 16 years old! My gratitude to wildlife film maker Jeff Hogan for sharing his footage of F61 and her kitten, Willow. It's so inspiring to get a glimpse of the secretive life of my wild neighbors. Painting available at Gallery Wild Jackson Hole.
