Antique Rockingham Ware commemorative pitcher circa 1850. Made and decorated in the Rockingham manner with high flaring spout above baluster shaped body, with broad strap handle, in a mottled brown glaze, with embossed inscription Capt. B. R. Berdett, Nantucket, Mass. Good condition with loss to latter "A". Measures 10" H x 8" D. Provenance: B. R. Berdett sailed from Nantucket on the whale ship FANNY in 1849, bound for the California gold fields. Ex. estate of Paul & Diane Madden
