It easily slips standard 3/8" lamp pipe.  SPT-2 is thicker with a 0.45" plastic insulation providing more protection and resistant to abrasion. Slipping SPT-2 wire through 3/8" - 1/8 IP lamp pipe can be tight. 18 gauge: 2 parallel stranded copper wires with standard  SPT-1 plastic insulation. The smooth plastic covered side is positive/hot. Whereas the opposite side with slight ribs in plastic covering is neutral/negative. Approximate cord size: 3/16" width x 1/4" thickness U.L.
