Beyond their use on beds, they serve as decorative elements for gate posts, stall doors, clocks, and various architectural details. They are one piece with a hollow interior, neck is permanently attached. Brass has polished finish but is not lacquered and will lightly darken overtime. Bolts not included as ball  thread onto bolt found on bed post top. Mounting Thread Size This thread size fits many beds, however it does not fit all.
