"Sweeping The Hearth" Triple Matted Art Print is an 8” inch x 10” inch triple matted print of an oil painting I made of my brother’s granddaughter Kaitlyn when she was just a child. One golden autumn afternoon, I was honored to be present as precious little Kaitlyn swept the big fireplace hearth at great-grandma’s house while all the cats watched her intently. It was a beautiful scene to witness. I remembered wondering if little Kaitlyn were pretending to be Cinderella and thinking how delightful to be a child lost in your imagination while doing something as simple as sweeping. The most mundane task can suddenly take on enchanted possibilities and carry you aloft in a world of wonder and joy. Such is the beautiful blessing of childhood.
