Nonviolent Silk Shawl - Ajrakh

Nonviolent silk is where the moth is allowed to break out of the cocoon and live. The threads of the broken cocoon are skillfully hand spun into beautiful silken yarn, then hand woven and made into what is known at MATKA silk. The brilliant Ajrakh block printers of kutch magically transform the plain, natural colored silk into this galaxy of printed geometrics and color. The colors are natural and the method, ancient and complicated.  Each shawl is unique and an absolutely beautiful, collectible piece. The feel and drape of Matka silk is heavy and luxurious.
