These hand-woven textiles are created using back-strap looms, the oldest looms adopted by humans and are still used by tribes of North East India. The products are purely hand-woven by rural artisan women. The designs and motifs are inspired by nature and local culture. The production process for these textiles is a decentralized model that respects the weavers’ time, ensures fair wages and promotes slow and zero-waste creation. The weavers keep traditional knowledge and skills alive while sustaining their families and communities.
