Mr. Nobody, part of Michael Lin's 2012 exhibition at PEM, is one of PEM's Chinese export porcelains, made in Jingdezhen in the 1690s. It's a European representation, inspired by an English earthenware figure, referencing the 1590s play Nobody and Somebody which satirized class inequality.
