Raw Beauty, 2024 DETAILS Artwork is 16"x 20" on a canvas in a natural wood frame This abstract painting is inspired by the intricate colors found in rocks, and the natural markings found in nature. This painting embraces the Wabi-Sabi aesthetic, a Japanese art form that highlights the beauty in things that are imperfect, aged, and simple. It values the look of wear and tear, celebrating the natural cycle of growth and decay.  Layers of pigments creates a look where every square inch of the painting is interesting to look at. I used natural pigments found in coffee grounds, crushed brick, charcoal and inks. I crushed sand and limestone powder to create textures, and even added in a dash of cinnamon and pepper! How fun!   The piece is sprayed with multiple-coats of UV protectant varnish. It is signed and comes ready to hang. SHIPPING Shipping will be added at checkout.
