Phonics | Targeted Independent Practice
The Targeted Independent Practice: Phonics program has been specifically designed to provide meaningful, diagnostically-assessed phonics lessons for students to complete as independent work while teachers work with small groups. The lessons and worksheets provide research-based explicit, structured literacy (systematic phonics) instruction and practice to quickly and efficiently differentiate instruction, according to the results of the Vowel Sounds Phonics Assessment and the Consonant Sounds Phonics Assessment (included in the program). Although previous teachers have taught phonics to our students, often students do have gaps in their skills. Your students probably have mastered some, but not all common sound-spellings.
