1 Crassula rupestris ssp. commutata 'Tom Thumb' 'Tom Thumb' (Crassula rupestris ssp. commutata) (Tölken): A miniature stacked Crassula. This dwarf succulent originated in Namibia and South Africa and is well-adapted to hot, dry rocky slopes. Its thick, triangular leaves stay under 0.4" long but store enough water to help the plant endure extended drought. 2 Haworthia mutica Haworthia mutica is a species of succulent plant native to South Africa's Cape Province. Very similar to, and often confused with, types such as Haworthia retusa, the species has blunt, triangular shaped leaves that are typically striated. In the wild it rarely offsets, though clones in cultivation may do so readily. 3 Senecio rowleyanus - String of Pearls String of Pearls (now Curio rowleyanus) (Jacobsen & Heath): An all-time favorite for the way its bead-like leaves can cascade several feet on slender, trailing stems. It is a popular succulent for hanging pots and can make any space feel like a jungle oasis.
