We like to include heirloom varieties of plants that aren’t perennials because we believe eating a diversity of crop varieties encourages more diversity in farm fields. Nature is diverse and diversity is resilient.  Flavor isn’t a trait breeders account for when boosting yield and disease resistance, so heirloom and heritage varieties are often where more flavor can be found!
