Direct-Mount Backbox for 8" Speaker Acoustic enclosure made to direct-mount an 8 in. speaker, which allows a heavier speaker to be used with a non-loadbearing torsion grille. The larger-than-average volume and acoustic treatment allow an 8 in. speaker to operate at optimum levels for improved low frequency response. Ideal for new construction projects in commercial, institutional, or residential applications. Lowell model IX810 is an acoustic backbox with torsion receptacles, flat grille mounting flange and a recessed speaker flange that allows an 8" speaker to be mounted directly to the backbox (order speaker separately). The IX810 backbox is ideal for tile ceiling applications. The recessed speaker flange is engineered to screw-mount and support Lowell's heavier, more powerful coaxial speakers, while the torsion receptacles mount a non-loadbearing torsion grille for a finished "no hardware" appearance.
