This is an original 1722 black and white copper engraving of "Guilhelmus Verdugo," also known as Guilielmus Verdugo, a member of the Council of War in the Holy Roman Empire and an Imperial military commander. In his right hand is a military baton, indicating his high military rank. The portrait is surrounded by a wonderful decorative motif mimicking a frame against a wonderfully etched background. It features two lions flanking a cherub at the top of the print and a cascading grape vine design framing the remainder of the portrait, uniting at the bottom of the print at an ornate, broach-like oval frame by two additional cherubs.CONDITIONThis 289+ year old Item is rated Very Fine +++.
