1722 Copper Engraving Portrait Rupert Ruprecht Von Eggenberg Austrian EUM5

This is an original 1722 black and white copper engraving of "Rupert von Eggenberg,"also known as Ruprecht von Eggenberg, an Austrian Colonel-General in the Habsburg Imperial Army from the Duchy of Styria, Austria, which at the time was a part of the Holy Roman Empire. The portrait is surrounded by a wonderful decorative motif featuring a face and botanical design at the top of the print and two oppositionally placed angels blowing trumpets within an intricate filigreed design at the bottom of the print. This piece is accompanied by the original German biographical text printed on a separate sheet and featuring a decorative drop cap, vignette and head-and tail-pieces.CONDITIONThis 289+ year old Item is rated Near Mint / Very Fine.
