This is an original 1849 black and white copper engraving of Bethlehem. Seen are various figures and a camel along the stone walkways of the city. We are assuming that the artist of this image is William H. Bartlett and the engraver, S. A. Schoff and J. Duthie. Josephus (37-100 AD), was a Jewish historian and provided valuable information on the background of early Christianity, and of Judaism in the 1st century.
