Hasan Shita (Egyptian Donkey Boy)." This is an original 1894 halftone print portrait of Hasan Shita, the Egyptian donkey boy of Cairo Street in the Midway Plaisance. Period Paper has obtained a rare set of large-format photographic portrait images of the different ethnic people who represented various countries of the world at the 1893 Chicago World's Fair, also known as the World Columbian Exposition. Each image comes with a short caption commentary (not shown) and the dimensions refer to the size of the image alone. Please note there is no printing on the reverse of these prints. The World Columbian Exposition was held from May to October 1893 in Chicago in honor of the 400th anniversary of Columbus' discovery of the new world.
