This is an original 1903 duotone halftone print of cows resting in the crypt of Kirkstall Abbey which is located northwest of the city center of Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. The abbey is a ruined Cistercian monastery that was founded around 1152. The original artwork for this print was created by Joseph Mallord William Turner (1775-1851) who was an English Romantic landscape painter, printmaker, and watercolorist. His artwork is regarded by some to be the Romantic precursor to the artistic movement known as Impressionism.
