1906 Ad Lasell Seminary for Young Women C. C. Bragdon - ORIGINAL ADVERTISING CL8
This is a small original 1906 black and white print ad for the Lasell Seminary for Young Women in Auburndale, Massachusetts, and under principalship of C. C. Bragdon. The school, originally named the Auburndale Female Seminary, was founded in 1851, by Edward Lasell, a professor of Chemistry at the Williams College. The school was later renamed the Lasell Female Seminary and then once again, the Lasell Seminary for Young Women. Initially, the school was known to be a prestigious finishing academy for young women; however, as early as 1852, it offered two years of standard college instruction, and even provided law courses, both radical movements at the time for a women's college. In 1989, the school became a four-year university and in 1997, it permitted men to attend. CONDITIONThis 105+ year old Item is rated Near Mint / Very Fine. Light aging throughout. No creases.
